Why LinkedIn feels crowded
Connection nudges, premium upsells, and sticky sidebars compete with the feed. Clearing those distractions makes it easier to scan updates and reply to messages without alerts in the way.
ClickRemix recipe for a calmer LinkedIn
- Prompt: "Hide popups, toasts, and upsell banners; remove right-rail 'People You May Know' and 'Premium' modules."
- Add: "Keep the main feed column centered at ~760px; reduce spacing between cards; keep reactions and comments visible."
- Ask: "Dim notification dots in the top nav; keep messaging tray accessible but not covering content."
- Save as "LinkedIn Calm Feed" for daily browsing.
Selectors to hide
-
Remove
.msg-overlay-list-bubble,.msg-overlay-list-bubble--is-minimized, and.notification-badgeif they clutter the view. -
Hide right-rail blocks like
.scaffold-layout__asideand.feed-right-rail. -
Remove upsell banners with
[class*="premium"]or[data-test-reflow-id]that match promotions.
If messages overlap posts
Ask ClickRemix to dock the messaging tray bottom-right at a smaller width, or hide it until hover. Keep DM notifications on, but smaller, so you can still reply quickly.
Focus on people you follow
Hide suggested or sponsored posts by targeting classes containing "feed-s" or "sponsored". Ask ClickRemix to "surface only creators I follow and company pages I've chosen" to reduce recruiter spam and unrelated content.
If the chat drawer keeps opening
LinkedIn can auto-open messaging on new visits. Add "keep messaging tray
closed by default; open only on click" to your preset. If it still
appears, hide .msg-overlay-container until hover so the
feed stays full width.
